Cozy and clean! Loved the room and atmosphere. Heated, indoor pool too!
My husband and I stay at the Hardy Spring River Lodge fairly often. We come into town to pick up his kids and sometimes it makes more sense for us to stay the night than to make the long drive there and back in a day. I am not one for writing negative reviews because I know that "stuff" happens and sometimes circumstance can change things. That being said...
We had reservations for a King Jacuzzi on a Friday night and for the second time in our reservation history with them they have changed our room type without asking us or informing us until check-in. One previous time we a room reserved with 4 beds and they switched us to a room with 3 which we made-do but was incredibly annoyed then. Anyhow, we stayed in this queen jacuzzi room on Friday and didn't get a chance to sit in said jacuzzi until 11pm. Upon sitting in it, it did not work right. We informed the front desk of this first thing in the morning and they said to call the manager, Teri Yates, on Monday. Let me tell you, today is Monday and I am writing a negative review. She returned my call, which I appreciate. However, she was rude to me and told me that I probably didn't do it right; she had housekeeping check it and it's fine. I asked since we were such loyal customers if there was any recourse and I was told NO. First of all she said they do not give refunds, secondly we stayed in the room and used the jacuzzi, and someone else just stayed in it and said it was "wonderful".
This is located on the top of the hill in Hardy, minutes away from Historic Downtown Hardy and the shops and historic buildings there. The motel itself has 2 floors but no elevator. There have several regular rooms and then a few suites, including a family suite and a Jacuzzi suite. Breakfast is included. Standard continental - that is cereal, toast, assorted Danish, fruits, coffee, and juice. On the weekends they add biscuits and gravy. They have an indoor pool that is open year round.
Very clean room and facilities. Staff was friendly and hospitable. It was a great spot for a quick getaway, my wife and I really enjoyed our stay.
I was not expecting a full refund by any means. What I was expecting was to hear the standard we apologize for the inconvenience and here is what we suggest or something along those lines. By the way their website says "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed". HAH! What I did get was a bad taste in my mouth by management and we will not be back. You can rent a cabin down the road for the same price and sometimes less. I would have stayed there but we were only needing the room for a few hours on a layover.
The hotel is fairly clean and we appreciate that and most of the time we have had pleasant experience with the front desk staff. I say "most of the time". Well, today I am officially annoyed and must say that they will never get our business ever again! And let me tell you we have 13 more years of regular travel to Hardy to see my husband's children.
I was very impressed with this place. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. It has an indoor heated pool and is near downtown historic Hardy. I will be staying again.
